There will be a big boom in the number of millionaires and billionaires from India over the next decade, a recent report by advisory firm Henley & Partners revealed. However, India is having a hard time keeping them in their home country.

A tsunami of private capital has left Russia and Ukraine, the UK has lost its wealth hub crown, and the US is fading fast as a magnet for the world’s wealthy, with the UAE expected to overtake it by attracting the largest net inflows of millionaires globally in 2022, according to the latest Henley Global Citizens Report.

The latest Henley Global Citizens Report projected that 4,000 millionaires will migrate to the UAE in 2022, surpassing the big countries like Australia, Singapore, Israel, Switzerland, USA, Canada, New Zealand, UK, India and others.

In the latest report issued by the global citizenship and residency investment advisory firm Henley & Partners, the UAE topped the list of countries attracting the largest net inflows of millionaires globally in 2022.

Canada is among the top 10 countries expected to see a positive inflow of millionaire migrants this year, according to the latest Henley Global Citizens Report.

Interest in investing in property to secure foreign residency and citizenship is rebounding among high-net-worth individuals. Even if relocation is not the main motivation, having multiple citizenships opens up the possibility of travelling to a wider range of destinations more easily.  

Numbers point to an expected rise in wealth in Africa, with five countries within the continent constituting 50% of its total wealth. Africa has more than $2.1 trillion U.S. dollars in total private wealth and it is predicted to rise by 38% over the next decade.

Fears of COVID-19 and conflict mean many wealthy overseas investors are interested in buying "golden passports" to gain citizenship in New Zealand. With the high amount of uncertainty in the current climate, the number of billionaires seeking citizenship has skyrocketed as they look for a 'plan B'.

According to a new analysis, Canada is one of the best investment migration options to improve climate change resilience
