Travel is back in Q3 2022, with surges in bookings and visa applications yet, ironically, the latest Henley Passport Index results show that passport holders with the greatest global access are currently the most restricted and reluctant to enjoy their travel freedom. Despite the unmatched worldwide access afforded to the citizens of the three nations occupying the top two rankings, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, IATA reports that international passenger demand in the Asia-Pacific region has reached only 17% of pre-Covid levels, compared to markets in Europe and North America, which have recovered to around 60% of pre-crisis travel mobility levels.
